[Harp-L] My Masco ME-18 For Sale
Considering selling my Masco ME-18. Originally serviced by Skip Simmons
(Rick Estrin's tech), then went over again a few years later by Ron
Holmes. This was the first Masco ME-18 he ever dissected, and he drew
copious schematics from it to use as a basis for his Velvet Glow amp.
Amp will play nice and low, for quiet gigs. But when you need it to, it
will get up there with the big boys. Just a shade under Bassman levels,
in fact. It has a big, fat juicy sound. It's a very flexible amp that
is inherently voiced for harmonica. My guitarist played through it,
however, and promptly bought one for hisself.
Ron added an extra padded mic input next to the normal input, and it
also has two outputs to run seperate cabs. He also did some extra
grounding work, and quieted the amp down.
The Ampro Cab has a nicely broken in Weber "Blue Dog" speaker. Looks
art deco on the outside, but under the hood, look out!
I want to get $450 for both. E-mail me off-list if you're interested.
Let's work something out.
Thanks,
Ray Beltran
P.S. At the link below, where you'll see the Masco, there are also
links to recorded performances with the Masco. Hear it for yourself.
