I am indeed learning to play Jimi's "Easy Blues" note-for-note. It's not a blues - it's based on
the vamp to "Killer Joe". Originally released on the posthumous "Nine to the Universe" lp, it can
be found on various CD's since then.
It is astonishing and revelatory to me that his entire solo lays quite nicely on the XB-Melody.
Much more easily than say, a Charlie Parker or Wardell Gray solo would. I believe that is because
Hendrix never strayed too far from the pentatonic scale.
It's certainly an education for me. I hope to have something recorded within a week or two.
