hey all,
just wanted to thank everyone who wrote in to
suggest people/places to see in Stockholm.
unfortunately, as happens with every trip i've taken
in the last couple of years, i managed to miss any
kind of good local blues show. (that this even
happened in New Orleans only affirms that my luck
truly sucks). anway, it was a good trip regardless. i
recommend live music lovers check out the Glenn Miller
Cafe while in Stockholm, as well as one of the coolest
little blues shops anywhere - Smokestack Records in
Vasastaden (not sure about the spelling there, but
it's near St. Eriksplan. i got a couple of Knockout
Greg & Blueweather CD's - which are awesome by the
way. if you like the West Coast sound, you have to
check these guys out. they join Ryan Hartt & the Blue
Hearts on my list of great unsung swing/jump/blues
(i'm working on what to name the category here, sorry
guys) bands. i wish there more bands like them out
there.i also heard the new Cashbox Kings album. good
album from a band with a kick-ass name.
thanks again all,
--Jp
