i think a lot of it is mental.
rockabiliy players don't hear harp in thier music.
that's almost what seperates some of thier songs from blues,,
that and of course the twang and drum beat.
Also,, rockabiliy isn't real "solo-friendly" music, and if there
is a solo, it's a quick guitar solo.
i bet that if some early rockabiliy cats ran into a tasty
harp player that "got" thier music and was more melodic
than solo-oriented (almost like a country Adam Gussow),
that music might have been changed forever.
