Ladies & Gentleman:
Please allow me to unmask. Rooty Baegga is also Headly Westerfield.
Having a secret identity was nothing more than this super hero needing his
privacy. Errr, no. Here's the real story:
As a free-lance writer, many years ago and long before the Internet, I
needed a nom de plume for a publication I was both editing and writing the
majority of the content. I invented several aliases, but the only one that
survived these many years was Rooty Baegga. He (me?) had a whole history
as well. Born into an Italian family, etc, so forth and so on....
Over the years I would use Rooty as a Front from time to time, mostly just
for the fun of it.
About a year ago, because I was getting so much email, I decided to
separate "business" from "pleasure" by using Rooty's name for all
non-business. It also made it easier to filter message by the TO: field,
as opposed to content.
However, I can never keep my email programs straight and sent the latest
message to this list using my real name. The last time I did that the
Harp-L listserve rejected the message because Headly Westerfield had not
subscribed to this list. For reasons unbeknownst to me, Headly Westerfield
now seems to be a member of this list.
Therefore, I will henceforth use my real name here, as well as stop posting
on topics that have nothing to do with Harmonicas.
You have Rooty Baegga's solemn promise on that.
