My two cents --
I thought it was funny that Shakin Smith quoted Wardell Gray in his post ("You gotta dig it to dig
it.") since I recently posted my attempt at a Wardell Gray cover and Richard posted his pointed
criticism of my rendition. I replied to the critique of Richard and others saying "You guys are
a tough crowd," but I totally respect Richard's critique of my efforts and appreciate that he
would take the time to give me his assessment. Richard's critique of Shakin Smith seemed to me
to be a very positive review and if I were Mr. Smith, I'd be very pleased with it!
