great stuff - there's another great story in the archives from Blackie
Shackner talking about they they thought he had developed his tone thru
use of cellophane wrapped around his harp(!!).

was not to be - sounds like his tone was that good it was very annoying
to other players.

Of course the black member of the Rascals was Ernie Morris, who IMHO 
is perhaps the most underappreciated harmonica player of the last 
century.  Talk about tone!  About Morris, Jerry Adler once said, 
"When he played the blues he put Sonny Terry and everyone to shame."
