If I may, an explanation,
Many posts that make it to the list are initially held for approval.
Not for content but because they originate from a non subscribed
address. Ben and I log into the approval account 2-4 times a day and
clear it of mostly spam and then free any held messages that really
belong on the list. That's why you'll get an e-mail that's out of order
in terms of the date and or time. It got stuck and then was freed.
Because of the sheer volume of the list admin tasks I virtually never
let anyone know I do this. It takes too much time to write individual
notes for every held post. It can certainly be confusing. The other
reason something can get held is no plain text component or an
unrecognised mime type. We do not filter for specific content ever.
