Hi -
Thought it would be worth a mention that I host a
Thursday afternoon blues radio show on WFDU - Teaneck,
NJ. That is 89.1 FM if you are in the NY/NJ area, but
you can also listen to it live online by checking out
www.wfdu.fm
You can also look up WFDU FM at warpradio.com
My show is on Thursdays from 1:00-3:45 PM (EST). I
regularly feature harmonica artists, along with
whatever else suits my fancy that week. I also bring
my own stuff, so I play plenty of vintage and obscure
recordings, along with new releases by the more
traditional artists.
During my show I tend to use themes to string the
music together, such as obscure Chicago blues, blues
on Sun Records, or I may feature a particular artist.
I would be open to theme ideas for future shows, as I
plan my shows in advance (anywhere from weeks ahead,
to the night before!!). Feel free to contact me
off-list with any ideas. However I can't guarantee
I'll use it, but who knows...
This week I will feature some live harmonica
recordings, and some of the great and influential
blues sax players, in addition to some new releases.
And to answer some questions before they get asked, I
get my CDs from my favorite source for harp music
online - BlueBeat Music - wwwbluebeatmusic.com
