Winslow sez :
" When playing fast fiddle tunes I get dry mouth, and I'm wondering if anyone has proposed solutions . "
&
" All suggestions welcome, with noted exceptions . "

What's shaken Winslow , 1st off - - I hope I'm not one of those " noted exceptions " because I really enjoy reading your input .
I know there are those who will NOT like this solution I use when it gets tough on stage and no water or any other beverage is available to get through when ya get " cotton mouth " ( if this term was about the venerable " James Cotton " then it's a good thang but ....) ,
I use a " LifeSaver " hard candy . They been saving my life on stage since the early 70's when I can't get a shot of cognac :) .
I always have a roll or a half roll in my harp quiver . I can tuck one little bugger ( o0o bad choice of woids ! ) to one side on my mouth in a my cheek like a cowboy does when he dips snuff .
The LifeSavers never slow me down when I have to start up with some fast signature licks I play ( country western stuff mostly applies here ) any type of fast quick note playing .
The woist case scenario is that you swollow it while playing and that's no biggie for me ( cause I'm a big guy and a little bitty LifeSaver is like a tiny tiny drop in my big bucket mouth ) , it does not happen over all very much in my case as I can't recall the last time I swollowed one while playing .
Once when I didn't have any LifeSavers I use a really tiny bit of salt from a " serve a portion type packet , you know what ones I mean , the ones you find in fast food restaurants . Salt will get the saliva flowing really well too , but , LifeSavers are my first and favorite choice .
- - My very best favorite flavored LifeSaver is - -
- - - - Drum Roll please heh heh :
" CHERRY " - -
Woiks fo me :)
Sincerely :
HR
