   Really nice to hear from Phil Gazell, one of Nashville's finest Harp 
Players.

Lots to be learned by listening to  Great Country Harp Players:
Kirk "JellyRoll" Johnson, Charlie McCoy, Terry McMillan, Don Brooks, Jerl 
Welch, Mickey Raphael and Phil Gazell...

   Even MORE interesting when you study their recordings....they are 
playing "Pop" & "Country" NOT Blues on Diatonic. It's nice to see how 
they've incorporated "different" ways to get the 'extra' notes..
some use ALT tuning, some OB, some pick a a chrom when needed and PHIL is 
the first one I've heard (professionally) use:

Valved Diatonics in a very subtle and skillfull way, I look forward to 
hearing more of his work in the future.....

I remember Bob Liana, my old friend from NJ posting about his 
experimentations with valved diatonics but is anyone else going this route??

The late Donny Brooks use always keep a set of Country Tuned (also adding 
the  (A) to the 3 blow (C harp) to his CT layout) giving him the 2nd note of 
the scale in 'cross'. As well as keeping a Chromatic CBH 2012 in his 
recording kit.
