[Harp-L] OB, CX, XB, XXX, whatever

Hey list & Chris M,
  leave me out of it! I like all harps & harp  styles played well. I don't 
think one choice is more valid than another. Of my favorite  eight players that 
I would drive a hundred miles to see, three use overblows, two play chromatic 
(at least one plays altered tuned chro), 3 play standard style diatonic. I'm 
sure that if I considered my favorite 20 players, the breakdown would be about 
the same.  
I've only heard a very little of Faiweather playing his alter-tuned XB, but I 
liked it. He wouldn't at this time pass the 100 mile test, but he might if I 
heard more. 
 I do use overblows & I play in front of tens of  thousands of people every 
year & Chris M. is absolutely right that no one that I remember outside of a 
harmonica junkie has ever commented on the sound of an overblow. Many, many 
seemingly impressed people have mentioned that they had never heard a harmonica 
played like that. Maybe they hated it, but it sure didn't seem like it.
