What do you think happened when that first new wave of "SECOND POSITION" 
players hit the scene?

Was there a big debate, pros and cons of playing "CROSS vs STRAIGHT"? Did the 
First Position players pooh pooh this startling new technique, saying "Some 
of those bent notes sound out of tune, and besides, why would you want to do 
this when you can just change to another harmonica to get these notes and 
continue playing in Straight Harp?"

What would the evolution of this instrument have been if nothing new was 
developed in technique over the years?
