[Harp-L] re help with a few blues techniques - Sonny Boy Licks

Hi,

I basically learned how to play harp by listening to Sonny Boy I back when
the only harp instruction book available was Tony Glover's book which I lost
somewhere along the way. :<(
That lick is one of Sonny's signature turnaround licks and he used it a lot.
I love it!! Just wanted to say that he sometimes uses parts of it and
varies the phrasing and I think even the exact notes that he plays. At
least that is my recollection. If u sing, u might try leaving out the 1d
just before you go into your singing verse and don't be afraid to vary the
exact number of notes u play.

Another variation on it which I like to play in rapid succession (almost
slurred but recognizable) on the blow notes is as follows:
2d 2d 2d 2d 2d 2d 2d 2b 1b 1d 1d

I think I slightly bend some of those 2d and the last hit on the 2d I usally
hit with a definate clean stop and then hit those blow notes quickly in
successon with the final 1d using some kind of vibrato technique

He has another great riff which he uses a lot especially on the IV change
which I believe is tabbed out on the JT30 website which u might like to
check out.
