Re: [Harp-L] Wood Covers for Diatonics?

Don asked about a company offering wood harmonica covers awhile back.
I also understand they've gone out of business, but for the record,
here's a couple leads [below].

As for M&M Harmonicas, weren't they the company from which Hardwood
Harmonicas was the offshoot?

Peace and Music,
Bobbie

Hardwood Harmonica Company

Hardwood Harps have wooden coverplates, available in
various woods and finishes, and a specially designed lack
plastic comb with a round-hole mouthpiece shaped somewhat
like a chromatic mouthpiece. Reedplates are standard Lee
Oskar repleaceable plates, available in four standard
tunings. Reedplates are attached to the comb individually,
via screw receptors sunk into the comb.

I don't know how old or current this info is, nor this from another website:
http://members.tripod.com/~bluzharp/hardwood.html

"Hardwood Harps" still has well over a thousand harps left
to sell and here is the ordering info.

Chuck Robinson is the owner and he can be reached at
"Hardwood Harps" Phone #(805) 686-1071 Fax # (805)686-1064
and his email is chuck@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

These harmonicas come with either round holes or square ones
in the combs and the hardwood covers can be had in Tulipwood,
Bloodwood or Kingwood. You can specify your harmonica to have
either Lee Oskar reedplates or Hohner M.S. Series reedplates.
The combs are made to accommadate both brands of reedplates
but it is the cover that has the holes predrilled for one brand
or the other. The protruding mouthpiece is the feature that I
like the most, it is so much easier to form a very tight seal.

Chuck sends the harmonicas fully assembled and here is the pricing.
(1) "Hardwood Harps" is $89.00 fully assembled.
( 2 to 3 ) "Hardwood Harps" are $79.00 apiece fully assembled .
( 4 to 7 ) "Hardwood Harps" are $69.00 apiece fully assembled.
