Hello Harp-L,
We are on our first journey re-wiring an antique ~Circa 1937 brown JT-30. It is a beauty but has old screw on connectors and the original cord has cracks and a ground wire hanging off the end.
We bought:
"Balanced Line Mic Cable" by: J.Rapco, RSMCA . I sure hope that's high impedance, the seller said it is. Mitch is soldering on a new 1/4" mono phone plug on the amp end of the cord, and putting the old "one dot solder" screw on connector on the mic end of the new cord. (Only $9 total for a new 20' cord and connector). It is very flexible cord with hemp inside for flexibility.
I am very excited that we are doing this. I have seen old JT-30's go for high dollar on ebay and was lucky to stumble into this one free.
I suppose many of you have gone down the re-wiring road before, and am asking you to please give me your input and advice on any and all tips for this project.
Thank you, [and Hi Ron :)]
Denise
