Bisquit review

Recently, while making inquiries on list it was suggested to me that I =
write a critique of my new acquisition, so here it is. I bought a =
vintage 1936 Astatic Brown Biscuit mic, with a new 151 crystal element. =
To keep it vintage, I bought a belt-clipped volume box from Larry Price =
at Mid-west Microphone. Dynamite combination. The Biscuit has a wicked =
bite, while maintaining clarity. It seems "dirty" and "clean" at the =
same time. I can really hear the definition of my tone. It's size =
makes for a great cup. With Larry's volume box, I never got buried by =
the Telecaster all night. This was a first and I had loads of volume to =
spare, with no feed. I run through a Fender tweed Blues Deville. I =
have no affillation with Mid-West Microphone, so I can recommend this =
volume box highly. It has an on-off button that allows unplugging the =
mic, without going to the amp. Great for blind folk. The Brown Biscuit =
is going to be my steady. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. =
