The tone of some of the posts in this thread (like the one quoted below) seems to say that it´s "outrageous" IN ITSELF to question the price of the item in question. (And, perhaps, other products as well? Harps? Cf development of Hohner price/quality since the 70s.) The market price is always right; you can always elect not to buy the product.
Isn´t this a bit stifling in an open forum? The harmonica is somewhat paradoxically one of the most expensive instruments to play (unless you´re satisfied with the single Marine Band, playing acoustic in your own living room), and should it not only be permitted, but encouraged, to ask questions wheter a product is reasonably priced or not?
I know nothing at all about the Harp Commander, but from what I hear on the list it sounds very interesting, and when my ship comes in I might very well be in line for one myself.

Hi all:
I wonder why any folks at all are complaining about the price.
Why hassle or criticize the one person out there who is actually
providing the unit when no-one else has really bothered? Bottom
line is that there is no rip-off even _possible_ with this unit's
pricing: if you don't think it's worth it, simply refrain from getting
one or build it yourself. All voluntary, all good.
My hat's off to Mr. Holmes simply because he didn't just talk about
making a unit that would help harp players--he actually went ahead and
did it. Way to go. He deserves and has honestly earned every penny he
makes.
And I use a Digitech RP-300, not a Commander. No affiliation, not even
a customer.
