Tinny? You've got to be kidding. Any harp can be made to sound tinny, 
including the XB-40. But I find that for me (playing, don't know 
aobout listening) the XB-40 is fat, loud, and cuts through 10 or 12 
fiddlers, far more than other diatonics.
