My bad: I thought Billy Boy Arnold wrote this tune: it was actually written
by Clarence Carter of "Patches" fame. Below is a blurb about him from
www.allmusic.com:
A blind soul singer whose numerous hits of the late '60s and early '70s
epitomized the Muscle Shoals rhythm & blues sound, Carter hit the big time
with his Atlantic single "Patches" (1970) and won a lasting place in the
annals of Southern soul with others like "Slip Away" and "Too Weak to
Fight." In 1977, Carter broke out of a dry spell with the Venture album
Let's Burn, featuring a track called "Workin' (On a Love Building)," which
set the theme for much of what was to follow: robust, lascivious lovemaking
boasts. More recent tracks such as his salacious reworking of Tampa Red's
"Love Me With a Feeling" and the jukebox favorite "Strokin'" (too risqué for
some radio stations) further solidified the carnal Carter image. Still
primarily a soul/R&B singer, Carter has incorporated more hard blues
elements in his music recently than in the Muscle Shoals days, despite his
new and un-blues-minded penchant for playing and programming all the
instruments on his albums.
