Roger sez:
"If you are going to play chromatic, learn to read and write music. The
layout of the chromatic will be easier for you to understand and will get
you past thinking in positions so you can start thinking in keys."
Roger, I respect and agree with your comments. I can still sight read
(vocally), and kinda remember some of what I learned in 6 years of music
classes, 20-some odd years ago. Some of it's foggy though. On the other
hand, It seems that it would hurt my brain when playing multiple keyed
harps. A guitar player doesn't have to inhale/exhale simultaneously to
get multiple desired notes at the same time. I do think in keys, but I
have to consider positions as well, or just play one note at a time in
some keys. That's why I asked what key harps lay out best for positions
beyond 3rd (I'll add pressed and unpressed now), and still have chords
that sound kool for my music. I wish I had the time to be a true virtuoso,
but it's just one of those goals that will be beyond my reach for now! But
I do get what you're telling me, it would make it easy for me to figure it
out myself without asking for help if I understood what I was doing
without having to study it so hard. If it sounds like I'm kindof a
scatterbrain, it's only because I am........
