Tubes use a lot more power and MUCH higher voltages than solid state does,
so it would be a lot harder to make a battery powered amp using tubes.

I have been looking for the same sort of thing, myself.
Pignose makes a tube amp (Model G-40V) with 2x6L6's, 40 watts,
and a 10" speaker, but it's not battery-powered. I wonder why
all the small battery-powered Pignose amps are solid-state?
Too bad they don't make a small, low power "tube" amp that
runs on batteries. The Smicz "Portablues" is the only tube
amp I know of that's battery-powered. Anyone know of any others?

The Portablues are incredible sounding amps, but they do cost a lot. Around
$600....not they're not worth it, but that's out of your range from the way
it sounds.
Since nobody's mentioned it, there are the good ol' Pignose amps. The Hog
20 is just over $100, and has a rechargeable battery. Not bad sounding,
but sounds like it's stuck on overdrive all the time. I HIGHLY recommend if
you go with that one, not to use a green bullet, but something like a Shaker
dynamic that's a lot more feedback resistant. You'll enjoy it much more
with one of those.
