A Google search on either of these names will bring up what you're
looking for, and even some brief sound samples.
Mistric recorded only two tunes in the 1920s or '30's, while Fontenot
recorded both as a commercial artist and was recorded extensively by
Chris Strachwitz of Arhoolie as a folk musician. Both these artists
are true Cajuns (i.e. Acadiens, whose French-speaking ancestors came
from Acadie in what is now Nova Scotia) in the French tradition, as
opposed to blues musicians operating under the label of Cajun.
Nothing against the cajun/blues mix, but these two musicians embody
something very different from what many people imagine "cajun" to be -
it has a medieval quality to it due the the very old origins of
their repertoire in France.
