RE: sonny jr new 4x10?

I recently traveled to Sonny's house in Connecticut and A/B'ed the amp with 
my Bassman Reissue.  The amp sounded great. It really had good bottom end 
response.  I tried various mics including some that Sonny used.  Different 
mics had a very noticable impact on the tone from the amp.  I had 
extensively experimented with tubes on my Bassman and thought I had a pretty 
good tone.  After hearing Sonny's amp, I tried a totally different tube set 
in my amp and got it souding much closer to what Sonny has.  I would still 
give the nod to the Sonny Jr amp, but at $2200, I was reluctant to dive in.
