L.R. Baggs Feedback Master

Hi all,

I've just borrowed (try to buy) a feedback controller, by L.R. Baggs, =
called the 'Feedback Master'.
Its designed for acoustic guitar and seems to work well for harp.

The rig i'm currently using is a Fender Pro Junior with 12at7 and 12au7 =
tubes and a Weber 10F150 speaker. The mic is usually a Shure 545. Also =
use a Boss DM2 analog delay and some (no name) chorus. The Weber =
projects lots of lows and mids which suites a horn style (IMO).=20
I thought, by reducing feedback I could drive the amps tubes a bit and =
get more color to the tone (still haven't heard any tube saturation, i =
think).=20

Reading the manual, the gadget has a high impedance variable gain, Class =
A FET input stage, volume control, invert phase switch and two =
sweepable filters=20
0-320 Hz.

Well, I tried the feedback gadget and was very pleasantly suprised. I =
hadn't realised just how 'boomy' the sound had been. I don't know whets =
doing the magic but the clarity, smoothness and definition of the rig =
now is very tidy indeed. There seems little difference in overall volume =
with or without the gadget, (remembering the feedback controller is =
designed for acoustic guitar).=20

I've tried a Boss AD3 before and it just didn't compare to this machine.

I'm not really a 'tech head' but i'd appreciate some feedback (excuse =
the pun) from folks who have had experience with this Class A FET =
style pre amp.=20
I'm fascinated to know how and why.

Thanks in advance,

Pete Knapton
