If you are using a Mic with a volume control, is it better to have the mic volume all the way up or the amp volume, if this makes sense? It seems if the amp is cranked I am in danger of feeding back if I turn the mic up to high.
   
 
   You should have your amp turned up to the point that your mic pot is at max and you have no feedback. To get the best tone it is important to be able to have your mic volume all the way open.
