Re: Boogie tuned harp

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Hi Phil and all,

I too have a boogie harp and I wish I knew how to use it.
Mine is in "F". I've heard Gene Broglie (sp?) use one on
recordings. Have seen Joe Mass (trio with 2 sons) use it
at SPAH. Have seen Al Smith use it on a number of occasions.
I think it's best used sparingly for effects - like a boogie chord run
within a song. Not a melody machine as far as I know. Wish I=20
had one in "C" it would make it easier for me to experiment
with it. I'm sure someone on list will come up with better=20
answers. =20

While we're at it - I have a H-280 (64) which is called an arpeggio =
harp.
Can't find out who made it. I got it from the estate of Paul Willinbrink
(Louisville) a few years ago. There are (were) a few around. Tuning
is similar to the boogie, I think. I don't know how to use it either.
If anyone is interseted I'll see if I can get the tuning layout. Oh,
BTW, it has two slides.

I have a HOhner 270 that is tuned in "C Boogie" built by John Infande =
that I bought from at a SPAH convention.

I have a sheet with the note layout but that doesn't help me play it.

How is the thing meant to be played?

  Any ideas welcome.

  It has a=20
