as far as I know, Steve doesn't use a feedback destroyer but a "power
soak" from Ruby Tubes called "Silencer." This little box is settled
between the power tubes and the speaker; it reduces the signal that goes
to the speaker without changing the sound. More tube distortion at lower
volume.
