Hi,
The silverface Champ speakers are nothing special, although they are 
not bad.  Instead of reconing you might consider getting a modern  
Jensen replacement (a cheap speaker that seems to work pretty well is 
their "Mod" 8" speaker IMO).  Just be sure to specifiy 4 ohm as they 
make both an 8 and  a 4 for these.  Weber VST also makes some nice 8 
inch speakers to check out (www.webervst.com) .
