RE: [Harp-L] golden melody harps

I use GM harps almost exclusively and am very happy with them out of the box. When I first started playing in the 70's, I used Marine Band harps and briefly switched to the GM harps. At that time, I found that I had a lot of problems with reeds going flat, so I switched back to the MB. After more experience and learning to relax my playing, I tried GM harps again and have stuck with them. I agree with Chris on the shape and tone of these harps. I think it is unique and very well suited to single note style of playing. I thought I would bring this all up to say that you may want to be aware of the possible early failure problem I experienced.

Hi
I have never tried Hohner golden melody harps before - can any on e give me a recommendation (pros and cons) about them? I noticed that Carlos del Junco plays them so I got curious.
I am a Blues harmonica player (I do a lot of acoustic playing), not very advanced in the art of overblows (but I`d like to learn), and always engaged in the never - ending quest for the perfect harmonica (currently I am very pleased with the Hering 1923, but always looking for new ideas)
Thanks for any info
Hammer
