The harmonica is of course both a "chord" and a "single note" lead 
instrument... This is one reason that why we tend to play in "positions "... The chords 
sound quite different, for example, in "2nd" or "3rd" positions...
For many years I hardly played any chords ... My favoured embouchure was and 
still is "pucker" or "lip block". But since I learnt to "tongue block" as 
well,  many additional sounds became available. Octaves for example, and big 
beautiful chords....
The more technical "tricks" a player can learn, the more variety is available 
in their music!
