RE: [Harp-L] Honer M.S. Series

The MS Blues Harp comes with a thinner set of reed plates then does the Meisterklasse, and Cross Harp. I believe that most retailers will sell only the thicker reed plates as a replacement... thereby making a purchase of "spare" MS reed plates an upgrade for the Blues Harp.

Thicker plates = louder.

It is a slight difference in the thickness, but honestly, I have had more trouble with the thinner reed plates that come stock on the BH, BR, and Pro Harp. The plates that come stock on the Cross Harp are by far superior in my very humble opinion. I only have one older Meisterklasse in Db - I don't really mess with it as I do the newer Cross Harps.

I am certain there are many on this list that can elaborate far more than I can on this topic.

Hi,

I have a question about Honer's M.S. components. I'm wondering if the
replacement reed plates that you can buy for M.S. series harps are equal in
quality to the original. I thinking down the line here about the Blues Harps
I just bought. I may want to add to my collection of these and I see that
the M.S. replacement reeds come in some low keys that the Blues Harps don't
have out of the box. If anybody is hip to the finer points on this series
and their components and can tell me if the replacements are like the
originals that would be great. Thanks.
