I keep reptiles, snakes in particular.  Hopefully next
year when some of my juveniles are grown up I will be
breeding reptiles.  Doesn't contribute to my harmonica
practice or study whatsoever, but as you said it does
bring me balance.  I would say it actually detracts
from my playing simply because it takes up a fair bit
of my time that I could be using to practice.
