Re: [Harp-L] harmonica stands

Mike:

The easiest and most cost-effective option is to buy a music stand. Not one of the cheap, shiny folding ones, but one of the black heavy-duty kinds that has a solid sheetmusic rest on it. I use one with the music rest laid parallel to the floor with the "lip" turned toward the audience to conceal my harps. You can lay out all your harps with enough room left to hold a beer, a shotglass, your car keys and an ashtray and you can even put your band name on the side facing the audience.

A harp player I used to work with read a lot of charts on some gigs and used his like a regular sheet music stand, but had a partitioned wooden box that held his harps resting on the lip and set his sheet music and mic on top of the box. The harps had key labels on the ends and were real easy to juggle for some songs where he would be playing multiple harps.

They're cheap, you can customize 'em easily and did I mention they're cheap?
