suggestions on how to "invent" your own tools.

I started with a Lee Oskar kit and an inexpensive electronic chromatic
tuner. A small flat-bladed screwdriver added to that and you can work
on
most diatonic harps. Not all the tools in the kit are equally useful,
and
if you're resourceful you may be able to put your own tinkerer's kit
together! You do get a very handy guide with the Lee Oskar kit, though.
