My $.02 on Buckeye
I was not able to be at all the Buckeye this year, but showed up late
Thursday, and had to leave early Saturday. The time I spent, though, was
great. The problem with singling people out to say "thanks" to is that
there are so many you ~don't~ thank. Be that as it may, the Filisko
teach-a-thon is always great; this year, I spent about an hour or so with
Alan Holmes, who graciously and patiently answered my questions,
demonstrated, had me/us demonstrate, and, in general, was just wonderful
with his time and knowledge. Jimmy Gordon, as well, spent time with me,
figuring out what was wrong with my CX 12. How cool is that? What a great
event this is, to put us in touch with such knowledgeable, conscientious
musicians who are so willing to share what they have.
Plus, I got to hang out with Tom, Bill, and Jason. Who could ask for more?
