You say "Hohner reedplates" which implies that you're thinking of the
modular system harps. The MS low D plates are next to useless in my
experience and I wouldn't blame anyone from shying away from them - but the
low D Special 20 handmade harp is a completely different kettle of fish.
It's my very favourite. I'd be surprised to hear of anyone shying away from
these! I must try one of those Herings though....

Hi All,
I am looking for a manufacturer of a low D harmoinca (i.e. tuned one octave
below the standard D-harp). I am aware of the Hohner models but I am really
interested in getting away from the Hohner reedplates. Does anyone know
another manufacturer?
Thanks,
Peter
