Hi John, 

I have a much less expensive pedal unit called the
"Hush Pedal" from a company called Rocktron. It
really does the job. Not much good for guitar, but
it works great for harp. 

Got mine at Musicians friend on super sale last
year. Look for the new re-issue unit (blue steel
case) with single threshold knob. The two-knob
model isn't very effective for harp (from what I've
read). 

Don't know what other advantage the Kinder unit
offers, but for that kind of dough, it certainly
should do more than just cut feedback, IMO.
