Blues harmonica player Harvey "Harmonica Fats" Blackston was born on this
day in 1927. Fats learned to play the harmonica from his father after
getting one at the age of three. He moved to California in the mid-1940's
and worked in music until his death in 2000.

Rock/Blues singer, keyboard and harmonica player Ron "Pigpen" McKernan was
born on this day in 1945. Pigpen learned the blues from his father, a Blues
DJ and was the Blues anchor for the Grateful Dead during it's early years.
