Re: Blues purism

Bob,

I love what ya said. I just went to a B.B.King music
festival. I already forgot the jazz/blues band from
New Orleans that opened because they were too loud
without definition of parts. You could not hear solos
clearly especially the Harp solos.

Then Jeff Beck came on, who I have followed and loved
since the early 60's when he actually played some
blues. I could care less that he played only a few
licks that could be called blues he was great as a
guitarist and more importantly as a musician.

Last B.B. was well recieved and respected/applauded by
all. I have loved his music a long time also. He was
not at his best so the blues part of the show was not
my favorite part. Now I did enjoy the whole show but
for different reasons with each band. For me I felt
Jeff Beck, Terry Bozzio and Tony Hymas gave me the
musical show I came for.
