re: practce
First off, good job focusing on Little Walter in your practice schedule. If
you want to play blues harp, you need to know the language and Little Walter
speaks the language as well as anyone. I find the hardest part to cover is
the little quick slurs that connect the riffs.
Most people make the make the mistake of practicing the whole song all the
way through. Only practice the hard parts. Practice that little slur between
those two riffs. Play it painfully slow, over and over and over until you
nail it.
I wouldn't work on just one song for any long amount of time. I'd have three
or four things going-try a Junior Wells 3rd position riff, a Little Walter
riff, a chromatic riff, etc.Find some musicians to jam with so you have a
use for those cool riffs.
