Cover Plate + Reed = Bad

I just got a new Marine Band in D.  I finished sealing it and all and the 1 
draw is making this high pitched buzz.  It sounds fine with the cover plates 
off so I am inclined to believe that the reed is clanging against it.  I know 
that this only suppsoed to happen on really low keys so I'm a bit confused.  I'm 
wondering how I would go about correcting this problem.  Any help would be 
appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
