If I recall correctly it was a Gibson GA-90, six 8" speakers. If you go
to www.harpamps.com you can find snippets of this thread in August of
1996. Tom Eliis offers that several multi speakered Gibsons were used
on this particualr recording and that there was a lot of tweaking of the
tone post production. I have to agrre with you, this is about the best
modern harmonica tone I've heard. Junior Watson's guitar playing might
even be better. Talk about a great tone. An unfortunate aspect of many
speakered Gibsons is that guitar players also like them. Good luck
finding one that's affordable. A grand total of 947 were shipped from
1953 through 1960. A pair of 5881's but this is a low wattage amp, 25
total which is probably why it sounds so good for harmonica. Very low
plate voltages. I just looked at the schematic, 385 volts on the
