Dear List,

Got a nice review from Spain.  If anyone gives you a hard time about the
harmonica, here's a list of orchestras I have been the soloist with and you
have to figure a least a few of the Music Directors knew what they were
doing.  So just shove this list up their nose!

I am going to do a summer seminar in New York at my new house upstate and
will get a date out soon for those who want to learn chromatic.  I have
several harmonica players take a few lessons with me including Mike Turk,
William Gallison, Rob Paparozzi, Sugar Blue, Randy Singer, etc.  If you hav=

"BONFIGLIO, TOTALLY SPECTACULAR"

VALLADOLID - The Concert of the Orquesta Sinf=F3nica de Castilla y Le=F3n,
celebrating the opening of classes at the University, presented in
performance the music of the cinema of John Williams and the songs of Elvis
Presley in an orchestral arrangement by Eric Knight.
   The "Suite of the Songs of Elvis Presley for Harmonica and Orchestra"
proposes a marriage of the symphonic orchestra with the music of Elvis
which is never an easy task to carry out.  But it worked,  resulting  in a
offering both pleasant and entertaining, allowing ballads and rock to
immediately capture the public that was present.   Songs like "Heartbreak
Hotel" , which was number one on the record charts in 1956 in the USA,
"Hound Dog"  and "Jailhouse Rock",  in a mixture of smooth melodies and
rhythmical vibrations of rock and roll were performed in a musically
spectacular form by the harmonica of Robert Bonfiglio.  Through a trick
feat , as instrumentalist/'showman', he is  capable of all shapes of sounds
from his harmonicas, even the most delicate and lyrical and the most
raucous, syncopated and energetic.
   The North American Robert Bonfiglio then so much as turn everything
upside down in his interpretation during the concert by having the public
collaborate actively with rhythmic applause.  Seriously, it would be very,
very interesting to be able to listen to his interpretation, joined by the
Orquesta Sinf=F3nica  de Castilla y Le=F3n, in a performance of the Villa-Lobos
Harmonica Concerto.
