Zydeco accordion player Clifton Chenier was born on this day in 1925.
Chenier was one of the great proponents of Zydeco music and thouigh he was
best known for his accordion playing, he also played the harmonica from time
to time.

Composer William Russo was born on this day in 1928. Russo wrote "Three
pieces for Blues Band and Orchestra" and "Street Dances" for the
Siegel-Schwall Band.
