Alright...in a nutshell: 1st is harp and music are the same key. 2nd is
music is 1 fifth (7 semi-tones) above the harp key (G on a C harp). 3rd is
music 2 fifths above the harp (D on a C harp) etc...
12th is music is 11 fifths above the harp key. 12 fifths, and you're back
to where you started...it is a circle after all. :) 11 fifths above is
actually 1 fifth below also, which is probably why 12th is sometimes called
"1st flat". That's F on a C harp.
I dont know about pure blues, but Carlos Del Junco plays this position on 2
whole songs (plus bits of two others) on his rather jazzy "Up and At 'Em"
cd. Carlos does play overblows as well, so you may have trouble playing
along even if you know the position.
