RE: pt3 Butterfield book
In 1990, I decided to write a book on decorative painting, just to see if I
could. It covered everything I knew about the subject at the time (this is how
I make my living). The idea was to publish it myself and market it to people
who wanted to make money at this art form, not the mass market of people who
just wanted to paint one room. The book was for serious professionals. I
advertised it in several magazines and to my amazement I sold over 1200 copies at $25
each all over the world. Not bad for three months work.
My advice is to write the Butterfield book for the sheer love of the music
and the chance to make a statement only you can make. Let me know when it's
finished, I'd love to have a copy. And I bet a few others on this list would also.
