I am giving you people on harp-l a sample of my music and in return, I ask
you to honestly tell me exactly where I am in my journey. As many know I
have been planing my first CD for over 2 years now but have never been
satisfied with the results. I want my first CD to sound like it's my 10th
(not my first). For the first time I am happy with my music that I am
making. Linked below is a very rough cut at low quality. It was a jam but I
decided to start singing and was literally writing a song as I went.
Since my post on Harp-L about my new rig, I have received several requests
for a sample. A lot of people were confused cause they thought that a switch
from an SM58 into the PA (with no effects) to a vintage CR Green Bullet
through an old Harmony tube amp was a far cry. Special thanks to Bluesdawg
and Dave Kott for supplying the "DREAM RIG"
Well I have been very busy wood shedding for the last year and no one has
heard me with exception of the few local juke joints across the tracks and a
few friends in my area. Well tonight we were at my moms house and turned
everything low and tore into a song that came out of no where. I was
literally writing this stuff as I was playing it. So the title is "Crazy
About' Me" and it is certainly shaky! It was recorded literally "Live At
Momma's Place". I had to hold back a bit cause I couldn't turn my amp over
"3" and I had to sing/play very quiet so that we didn't wake my 2 year old
daughter sleeping in the next room. But we achieved it using the bare
minimum. We were using the Windows 98 recorder "Audio Station" (single
track) through a cheap PC mic (micing the PA). The results was ok. And this
should give you an idea of my newest written song and about where I am in my
music. Me, my voice, a guitar and my harp, that's all! What do all you
think? Link and song info below!
