Although I've never had the pleasure of playing in an organ-containing (?)
band, there are an awful lot of organists (Hammondistas?) who put out some
pretty greasy blues. Jimmy Smith, for one. Papa John DeFrancesco and his son
Joey (who played with Miles Davis, too!) for another two. That cat named
Groove Holmes (from Chicago, maybe?) would be worth checking out, too. I can
point you to some great tunes from the first 3 mentioned. If anyone has some
Groove they would like to share, please let me know...he's kinda hard to
find...
