i remember reading about this on harp-l about a year ago, maybe six months.
i only know a few folks who know theory well enough or have memorized the
circle of fifths, to use it. just always remember that c is nothing. on two
occasions i started out as one finger being c (as in first place you start).
fortunately the guys involved knew i was trying to get the hang of it, and didn't
hit me.
i agree with mike that memorizing the circle of fifths is the way to go.
also, as someone asked, how ~do~ you tell the difference between a major key
and its relative minor?
lastly...yeah, congrats to tom for that very cool gig!
